Mercedes-Benz HGV Technician - Weekends - Knowsley

Job Description
We currently have an opportunity for a qualified, professional and competent HGV Technician to join our team at our Mercedes-Benz dealership located in Knowsley! This role is for our weekend shift from Friday - Sunday each week.

Our Technicians are an integral part of the team and use their industry expertise to ensure that we keep our customers and their businesses moving by responding quickly and delivering excellent standards of work.

Package Details:

  • £21.74 per hour, plus enhancement payment of up to £300 per month based upon your qualification level
  • Based onsite in Knowsley
  • 34.5 hours per week
  • Friday - Sunday, 06:00 – 18:00
  • 19 days’ holiday each year, inclusive of bank holidays
  • Permanent

About The Job:

  • Carrying out all scheduled repair, maintenance, servicing work and inspections on vehicles according to the manufacturer’s instructions and DVSA standards
  • Carrying out scheduled MOT preparations
  • Diagnosing faults using diagnostic equipment and manual checks
  • Retrofitting and start-up of accessories and detachable body components
  • Performance of defined, but also more extensive, assembly work and repair operations in cooperation with and/or under the supervision of Systems Technicians
  • Cleaning and care of customer vehicles and workshop
  • Completing service records, maintenance reports and updating job cards
  • Ensuring all work complies with health and safety and DVSA regulations
  • Liaise professionally with customers when required

About You:

  • Previous experience in a similar Technician/Mechanic role, ideally in a main dealership environment
  • NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance qualification in Heavy Goods Vehicles
  • Full UK driving licence
  • HGV licence (desirable)
  • Experience with electric vehicles (desirable)
  • Experience with Mercedes-Benz vehicles, products and systems (desirable)
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to work in a team and independently when required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Customer oriented approach to work
