Job Summary

The key purpose of this role is supporting various areas of day to day transactional processing and month end duties.

Hours

  • 40 hours per week, 8.30am - 5pm with 30 min unpaid lunchbreak.
  • Monday - Friday
  • Based at Knowsley Head Office

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Review of Overhead accounts by site/dept on a daily basis to ensure accuracy of postings and support calculation of month end prepayments/accruals

· Control of Warranty/R&M accounting and write off process

· Control of various aspects of vehicles sales on a day to day basis – deposits, debtors, stocks etc

· Posting and reconciliation of MB parts statements on a monthly basis

· Processing of ad hoc payments

· Maintenance and control of vehicle supplier accounts

· Maintenance and control of zero balance and mis-postings account including investigation/resolution

· Responsible for various Balance Sheet reconciliations

· Involvement in budgeting/forecasting process

· Cover for the Assistant Accountant as necessary eg bank posting/reconciliation, other aspects of vehicle sales process etc

· Assistance on Purchase ledger when necessary

Other ad hoc support eg assistance in year end, tax analyses, ONS surveys etc

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Sound experience in management accounting and transactional roles
  • Part qualified or training for an accounting qualification
  • Motor industry background advantageous but not essential

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

· Good Excel knowledge, including data manipulation, lookups and pivot tables

· Proactive demeanour able to form good working relationships within and outside of Finance

· Organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy

· Able to demonstrate initiative

· Someone who wants to understand the why and how something is done rather than just following a process and is keen to develop within and beyond the role

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
